Region of Colombo: Sri Lanka – On the 8th of September 2023, Bro. Nimesh Jayakody made his first profession in the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer. This momentous event took place at Sancta Maria in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Fr. Chandana Perera CSsR, the Regional Superior of Colombo, presided over as well as received the vows of Bro. Nimesh. His elder brother, Fr. Nipun, who is a diocesan priest and Fr. Suresh Kelum CSsR were the concelebrants. He received the religious habit consisting of a cassock, cinture and the Holy Rosary. He was also given a copy of the Constitutions.
During the homily, Fr. Chandana CSsR strongly emphasized on our constant need to focus on Jesus. “Bro. Nimesh as you profess your religious vows in the presence of the Church, you should keep your eyes focused on Jesus. Never lose your focus as you begin a new way of life today.“
Bro. Nimesh expressed his gratitude to all who supported him and thanked his parents, guardians, teachers, formators, superiors, and all who took part in his novitiate formation process in Lipa, Philippines.
The Regional Superior Fr. Chandana CSsR, expressed his gratitude for the presence of Nimesh’s family, relatives and the Redemptorist confreres from different communities.
